The Chakra System

Chakras are spinning vortices of energy whose job it is to fuel particular aspects of our life and particular parts of our physical anatomy. They do this by firstly funnelling energy from our own energy field (aura), and secondly by funnelling universal energy.

There are many chakras located around our body as well as spiritual chakras located above our heads.

It’s the seven major chakras that have the most influence on our physical and emotional wellbeing as well as attracting those things into our lives that create a life of joy and fulfilment.

The Chakra System

The chakras are also connected by energy channels, and when all the chakras are healthy, and these channels are free from blocks , then our lives will also flow. A sense of peace and contentment will prevail. Life will take on that feeling of being magic, with just the odd speed bump along the way.

When a particular chakra is struggling that area of our lives that it fuels will also struggle. If it’s left unchecked for a period of time the area of the physical body that is energised by this chakra will become affected and physical symptoms, and the possibility of disease, will manifest. Most people will have one or two chakras that are struggling so don’t feel too bad if that proves true for you.

When most of our chakras have blocks, or are closed, then life will be a constant struggle, and physical ailments will be a common occurrence.

An even more serious situation can arise when a chakra spins backwards and begins sucking life force energy from the body. Physical pain and serious damage can be done to the body in a relative short space of time. Medical assistance to treat these symptoms will most likely be non effective. The cause of the condition will need to be addressed and resolved. Thankfully, this condition is relative rare. It’s more common for a chakra to become “leaky”, and whilst the symptoms are similar, they are less severe.

These blocks are usually the result of unresolved traumatic events and suppressed emotions. They may lay dormant as a cellular memory until triggered by a current life event. These events can be quite innocuous and even go unnoticed at the time, or we may notice that our reaction to what seems to be a minor thing is an overreaction.

These unresolved traumas could have occurred at any time along our soul path, from last year to many lifetimes ago, and in some cases for the star seeds amongst us, are from time spent in other realms.

For these blocks to be healed/transformed quickly, permanently and without having to relive the past, a skilled healer/shaman is able to journey back to the appropriate time and work their magic.

Our energy system works as a synergetic system, but it can still be useful to have a basic understanding of some of the functions of individual chakras.

1st Chakra: Base or Root (Red)

1st Chakra: Base or Root (Red)

Located at the base of the spine, its job is to look after the spine, hips, legs, feet, as well as provide support for the physical body in general. A strong Base chakra will also support the functions of all the other chakras.

It’s responsible for attracting those things needed for survival, like food, shelter, money, our friends or tribe.

A problem with this chakra in the early stages can produce feelings of fear, anxiety, restlessness, inability to focus and a feeling of being disconnected from the world.

For those more spiritually aligned who work with the higher spiritual chakras, a problem here can also manifest with more acute symptoms as the stronger, higher frequency energies we are connecting with will not be able to be grounded through the body.

2nd Chakra: Sacral (Orange)

2nd Chakra: Sacral (Orange)

Located just below the navel, it’s responsible for the bladder, kidneys, reproductive system, and lower abdomen.

It allows us to discover, be in touch with and attract those things which bring us pleasure, enjoyment, and creativity.

Problems with addiction of any kind often lead back to a problem with this chakra.

3rd Chakra: Solar Plexus (Yellow)

3rd Chakra: Solar Plexus (Yellow)

Located in the stomach region between the navel and sternum, the Solar Plexus fuels our stomach, liver, intestines, and the digestive system.

It’s our power centre. Everything we stand for. Who we really are and our self esteem.

Are you able to be yourself without fear of judgement? Can you defend what is true for you?

4th Chakra: Heart (Green)

4th Chakra: Heart (Green)

Located in the chest area, it is responsible for the heart, lungs, and circulation system. Its job is to keep us loving and our vibration high; to bring into our lives all that we love. Compassion, self love, forgiveness of self and others are all traits of this chakra.

When it’s healthy and has strong connections to all of the other chakras, it will assist in cleansing our entire energetic system and energy field of negativity. Keeping us loving and positive in all that we do and say.

Empaths and highly sensitive souls can very easily take on and feel the negative emotions of others through the heart chakra, including the grief and perceived suffering of individuals, groups, or of the whole planet. They can have difficulty differentiating between their own issues and that of others. If you fall into this category you may need to give this chakra some extra attention.

5th Chakra: Throat (Blue)

5th Chakra: Throat (Blue)

Located at the throat, its responsible for the throat, thyroid, neck, and jaw. Its job is to express our authentic self. To clearly communicate who we are and what our needs are.

When our whole chakra system, including the energetic connections between the chakras, are clear and healthy, then we can communicate through the throat with love and compassion from our heart, with intellect and logic from our mind, with universal wisdom from our crown, our needs for pleasure from the Sacral. We can express through the throat all the attributes of the other chakras.

6th Chakra: Third Eye (Indigo)

6th Chakra: Third Eye (Indigo)

Located on the forehead between the eyebrows. It is responsible for the brain, neurological system, eyes, ears and nose.

It is known for its ability to see and sense what the other human senses can’t, to increase psychic ability and intuition. However it’s much more than this. It can help you master your incredible power to dream big and manifest those dreams – to create the life of your dreams.

7th Chakra: Crown (Violet)

7th Chakra: Crown (Violet)

Located on the top of your head, it’s responsible for upper brain and nervous system.

The job of this chakra is to awaken us to the fact that we are much more than flesh and bone. We’re a magnificent infinite soul and being of light. It connects us to these aspects of ourselves, and thus to the incredible wisdom and guidance of our soul and light-body self. It enables us to connect to other energies, which are beyond the dimension our physical body resides in.
